Over 100 million years old, with its successive layers of blue, brown, grey, white, orange and red clay, situated at the western tip of Martha's Vineyards, the 20m/ft65ft-high Aquinnah Cliffs are a colorful testament to the past. Fossils of camels, horses and even whales have been excavated here. The Native-Americans of Aquinnah employ this same clay to shape and manufacture their decorative pottery.
