Restaurant 1857 achieves its goal of being chic but by no means stuffy. A narrow street leads to this former coach house – an elegant combination of authenticity and contemporary class. Joke, the charismatic maître d', presides front of house; chef Joey conjures up creative and at times complex cuisine that is technically and visually impressive.
