Originally built as a summer house for one of the grand Lithuanian Dukes, Vila Komoda sits within a tree-filled park, just minutes from the beach and the Baltic Sea. After a full restoration it opened as a small hotel and restaurant, with Chef Martyn Meid having spent time in London before returning to his native country. His cooking is thoroughly modern, with touches of creativity and a subtle nod to Lithuanian culinary heritage; the super dark, slightly sticky rye bread cooked to his grandmother's recipe is particularly notable. In summer, make for the rooftop terrace to enjoy a cocktail as you watch the sun go down.
