About a 10-minute walk from the city centre, just off the ring road, this restaurant is a pleasant surprise on the ground floor of a residential building. Under the guidance of chef Hugo Sousa, who succeeded his father António Sousa, now front of house and always impeccably attentive, the kitchen leans modern, technical and delicate, grounded in showcasing local produce. The concept offers two tasting menus: Irreverência (6 moments) and Entre o Campo e o Mar (9 moments). Standout dishes? We were impressed by the artisanal breads, Pão de centeio, Broa de milho e ananás and the region’s typical savoury Moletinhos, as well as the Enguia fumada, smoked eel, served with chestnut consommé and ravioli filled with pear cream.
